Meet Dezireé

Welcome. I am so glad you are here.

As a board certified Nurse Practitioner and member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, North American Menopause Society, and the Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health, it is my passion to provide educated and evidence based medicine utilizing a holistic approach to wellness. I am certified by the Bio-identical Hormone Replacement Therapy Academy in bio-identical hormones as well as in functional endocrine from the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M). In 2024, I became certified in functional medicine by the Functional Medicine Academy.

About me:

More than a decade ago, I chose to become a nurse practitioner. I chose this path as I knew I wanted to engage in meaningful relationships with patients, impact wellness, impact body awareness, and ultimately, impact longevity. I have enjoyed working in various areas, but my calling is integrative medicine. I have spent the last several years passionately studying functional and integrative approaches to medicine, hormonal balance, and the use of bio-identical hormones for men and women. What I have learned has changed my life and the way I practice forever. Integrative holistic care is better care. This led me to the dream of Synergy Holistic Wellness, a place where patients can feel safe and heard regarding their most sensitive concerns. This dream evolved from experience with the challenges in the allopathic medicine world that providers and patients face, and my strong desire to put more control in the hands of the patient and their healthcare team and not the insurance and pharmaceutical companies.

Like the journey of many of my patients, I have worked on re-balancing my own endocrine system from the impacts of pregnancies, breastfeeding, prolonged contraception, endocrine disrupting chemicals and compounds in my environment, and stress. I have a special interest in breast cancer prevention. As a stressed out mom of two young children, I am guilty of pushing my health to the side. I am constantly working on acknowledging my body where it is at, honoring it’s compensations that I may not like at times, and embrace all it does for me.

When I am not working, you can find me lost in reflection, planning remodels and renovation projects with my husband, hosting (or enjoying) my lovely lake-house in Lincoln, running around to and from my children’s activities, planning an adventure, or spending time outdoors.

Meet Jennifer

Jennifer Murphy, Administrative Assistant, Certified Life Coach and CEO of Ignite Your Light, LLC

About Jen:

Jen has over a decade working in the healthcare industry as an office coordinator in a busy academic health clinic, where she met Deziree & they often joked, they would someday be the dream team.

What led you here?

I began to feel “stuck” in what felt like a broken system. A system I was far too familiar with, both as a professional and as a patient. I knew I needed a change and after much reflection, I learned I had outgrown conventional medicine. Gifted with a heart for serving others, I knew I was capable of so much more. With a giant leap of faith, I pursued a career in Life Coaching (totally my calling). Finally, my work life had purpose and my passion for supporting others reached a whole new level!

Outside of work, I can be found:

I am a (cheer) mom to my beautiful daughter. She keeps my husband and I busy and though she is little, she totally thinks she’s the boss! You can also find me party planning and crafting up special memories to share with my family and friends. I enjoy photography, writing and soaking up all that this beautiful life has to offer.

If you are interested in life coaching with Jen, email her at igniteyourlight207@gmail.com and if you are a Synergy patient, inquire about the Synergy Discount!

Angela King

FMACC and Nutritionist

About Angela:

Angela earned a Bachelor's of Science in Food Science and Human Nutrition from the University of Maine in 2003, she has been exploring various approaches to wellness ever since.

What led you here?

A Goldilocks tale of sorts.

Many years ago, I entered the wellness field as a Nutritionist for the WIC program, working with the wee littles of the world. After 5 years there, I moved on to become the Nutrition Director at a local nursing home, working with the geriatric population.

While both careers were fulfilling in their own way, I was looking for something that would be "just right". I decided to open a fitness studio where I could cast a much wider net. I could help the young, the old, and all those in between.

It was here that I met Deziree for the first time. Over the years our paths continued to cross, we began to realize our shared philosophy on wellness. For nearly 10 years, my studio fed my need and passion for helping others. Despite my dual approach to wellness, even still, it began to feel linear. I knew my time to branch out was fast approaching. Coincidentally, (if you believe in coincidences) just as I was considering hanging up my hat at the studio, Deziree was growing her business and looking for help. It was easy to see how our combined strengths would compliment one another, and how together, we would align to offer a well balanced, multi faceted approach to wellness. It was a clear and easy decision for me to join the Synergy team, I'm thrilled to be a part of it.

Outside of work, I can be found:

At a ball game! My husband and I have two daughters that we love to chase from fields, to courts, then back to fields again. Although it can be exhausting at times, I love every second of it. We also have our boy, Hank. The girls lovingly refer to him as "The Golden Child". They're probably right, he is a golden retriever afterall. We love chasing him around too.
